ABOUT GOLD PANDA
Hailing from Chelmsford in Essex, but now located to Berlin, Germany, Gold Panda started writing beats and collaborating a few years ago, beginning a journey that ultimately saw him nominated in the BBC’s sound of 2010 list and won the Guardian newspaper’s prestigious First Album Award 2010 for his debut album Lucky Shiner.
Having spent downtime behind the counters of various establishments of ill-repute he consolidated the rest of his hours creating archives of electronic music. He poked his head into the world by way of a collection of instantaneously raved-about remixes, that quickly attracted the interest of various labels, blogs and taste makers, leading to requests for him to re-edit the likes of Telepathe, Bloc Party, Simian Mobile Disco, Health and The Field. In the meantime, Gold Panda began culling his back-archive of material for a series of low key releases: the first was ‘Miyamae’, a 12” on Various, followed by the ‘Quitters Raga’ 7” on Make Mine, and the third, ‘Before’ was released digitally and on 250 limited CDs via Puregroove, all in 2009. In October 2010 Gold Panda released his debut album Lucky Shiner. A culmination of years of work spent refining his sui generis sound, the record was released to huge critical acclaim, culminating in the Guardian First Album award the following year.

Since then he has been touring throughout the world, as well as releasing a DJ Kicks compilation in November 2011, and a handful of additional singles, including last summer’s ltd run Mountain / Financial District 7”.

In 2013 Gold Panda release of the Trust EP, followed by his second LP, Lucky Shiner. That same year, Gold Panda completed a massive world through through New Zealand, Australia, Singapore, USA, Canada, Mexico, the UK and central Europe, performing several seminal festivals, including Sonar, Primavera, Glastonbury, Melt Festival, Roskilde, Hove, Decibel, Latitude and Sasquatch.

ABOUT LANE 8
2013 was a banner year for American house producer Lane 8 – already having gained momentum in 2012 with key DJ support from the likes of The Magician and Jody Wisternoff, Lane 8, through a consistent and high-quality output of original tunes and remixes, became one of the fastest rising stars in the ever-crowded dance music scene.

What sets Lane 8 apart from many of his contemporaries is his ability to craft music that succeeds both in the club and on the iPod – it’s no accident that his Soundcloud page has earned well over one million streams since the start of the project in summer 2012.

His most popular single to date, “Every Night”, was posted quietly on soundcloud in January 2013 – since that time, “Every Night” has gained over 1 million streams on youtube and soundcloud combined, been playlisted on BBC Radio 1, hit #5 on Hype Machine and was subsequently snapped up for an official release forthcoming in 2014.

Moving from strength to strength, Lane 8’s record label debut came via London’s Anjunadeep imprint with the single “Be Mine” in June 2013. Within a week of release, “Be Mine” hit #1 on hype machine, was played multiple times on BBC Radio 1, named record of the week on Above & Beyond’s radio show, and earned a spot on the Majestic Casual playlist (his second to date). “Be Mine” went on to become one of the best selling singles from Anjunadeep’s #1 iTunes compilation “Anjunadeep 05”. His follow-up with Anjuna, an original titled “The One” featuring vocals from Patrick Baker, is slated for release in February 2014, with remixes from Klangkarussell and Baio.

Later in 2013, Lane 8 continued his purple patch with a release on red-hot US label French Express titled “How I Feel”, a slew of free downloads, and remixes for Daughter, Fenech-Soler and Mike Mago, cementing his place in the record boxes of DJ’s like B. Traits, Mark Farina, Isaac Tichauer, Kidnap Kid, Goldroom, Zimmer, Andre Crom, and Compuphonic, to name a few.

Having played a busy club schedule all over North America in 2013, Lane 8 has recently moved to Germany to focus on his music career full-time, and will be touring Europe starting in 2014.
